From the Raw Materials yard through Shipping, CMC Steel South Carolina uses state-of-the-art
technology to maximize safety, quality and efficiency.
CMC Steel South Carolina uses steel scrap as the main raw material for
our electric arc furnace in the Melt Shop. From there, the
liquid steel is refined in the Ladle Metallurgical Station
(LMS). After refinement, the steel is transferred to our continuous
caster and molded into billets.
After reheating, the billets are processed into finished hot
rolled sections in the in-line rolling mill and in-line straightener
and are bundled or stacked. Finally, the rolled product is conveyed to the Customer Service
Department for any additional processing, storage and shipment.
Throughout the process, we place safety first. And we make
every effort to keep our equipment current and our staff up-to-date
on all advancements in the steel industry. It’s how we grow and
succeed.
The CMC Steel South Carolina Plant Services round out the team, providing outstanding support
for the production areas.
